Dale (dtoce, Coolrunning, Boomer and Beyond) recommended this book to me: I have studied it over and over again. This book along with Road Racing for serious Runners ((Pete Pfitzinger, Scott Douglas) provided the structure I needed to qualify for Boston.

The first in a series of two books by the same authors, I am wearing this one out. I used this book to create my training program for the 2006 Chevron Houston Marathon, where I finally qualified for the 2006 Boston Marathon.
-
I am currently reading this book (July, 2006), I am using the 18 week, 70 mile program to prepare for the Tulsa Route 66 Marathon, November, 2006.
-
My first running book and I got it signed by Hal at the Inaugural Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon.
-
Great reading material on how Hal changed is running techniques as he got older. More of a "story book" than a detailed guide to Masters Running.
-
I accidently found this book at a discount book store while shopping for Christmas presents. Probably one of the best running adventure books I have ever read. I could hardly put it down. The bad thing is, when I was finished, I wanted to run Badwater. Now that is sick.

You just can't beat a book by someone who has been there....done that..
-
I received this book as a gift: it is a great dictionary guide for running.
-
I found this book at an old book store. This book was written in 1982 and has notes written throughout. A serious runner used this book as a training guide. Some of the training information is outdated. Neat reading.
-
My niece bought me this book as a Christmas gift a few weeks after my first marathon in 1999 at Whiterock. It provides great daily motivation.
-
Again, you can't beat a book by someone with incredible running experience.
-
I have just started reading this book (July, 2006). With Boston under my belt, I think it will have special meaning.
-
Another new addition that I have just purchased (July 2006). It is a great "Picture Book" on running. It just might explain the awe of running to the non-runner.
